We have been talking about the fall season that is now upon us. We talk to many of our customers who are experiencing frustration with different type of pest control issues. The one that we are continually seeing a lot of right now are rodents that are finding access to your home and causing problems.
You would be surprised how mice and rats are finding ways into your house. We thought to share with you some of these access points so you can work to be proactive and sure none get in your house moving forward.
That being said, if you have a rodent problem and are local to Albany, please consider calling Albany's best pest control company, All Star Pest Solutions.
One place you might not expect rodents to get in is through your air conditioning ductwork. All of this ductwork ultimately leads outside. Most of the screens that are in place are designed to keep any debris or anything else from clogging your internal ductwork. Mice or rats are famous for chewing through screens and gaining access to your house this way.
If you have pets in your house, you might be surprised to find out that mice or rats will actually use this door to gain access to your home. If you have cats who are great hunters, they should be able to help minimize your rodent problem. But, If you have other pets that might not chase down mice or rats, you will want to consider locking your pet door at night to keep any rodents from getting in the house.
As the weather gets colder all rodents are going to seek shelter. If you leave your garage door open for any length of time even during the day, mice or rats might sneak their way in. Do you want to make sure that your garage door remains closed as much as possible. If you are doing yardwork, you might want to consider closing it then as well.
Mice and rats or other rodents like squirrels and chipmunks are famous for getting in your home. They might even climb on trees and jump onto your roof and gain access through your attic or through your gutter systems. We have talked about this before but if you have cracks in your foundation or places where you think rodents make it in, you'll want to remedy that as soon as possible.
